About

I was listening to a podcast recently featuring John Ollmann (Co-Founder and Director of Fleisher/Ollman gallery), and he posed the question “What propels people to make things?” And goes on to answer it with “It’s how they get the world to listen to them.” I asked myself that question, and for me, I think I’ve always struggled to express myself verbally, and making art, whether it is a drawing or a painting, or a three dimensional piece - it’s a way of saying something that I can’t with words.

I have a favorite quote from Philippe Starck, the French industrial designer, “I am not intelligent. I don’t know my alphabet. I cannot do division or subtraction, but I am a monster of intuition.”
